Periodic Inlet and Outlets

I am trying to make a infinitely long channel flow simulation by setting the flow going out of the output to be received into the input at the next time step.

My guess on how to do this is using a periodic feature. However, I am not sure how to make the inlets or outlets periodic as well or to offset their geometry to make another boundary in close to the inlet/outlet.

As I said, this an educated guess but if there are better ways to make an infinite channel, I would love to know.

Hi Justin,

Periodic boundary conditions could help to set up the infinite long channel domain. The inlet and outlet boundaries need to be specified as periodic type. Such boundary conditions can be set up in CONVERGE Studio, like attached. For more details, please refer to CONVERGE Studio manual, which can be found at www.convergecfd.com.

Best,
