Hello, I am using Converge v2.4, and I am running a simulation on a cone and plate viscometer. Is there a way to measure the shear rate over time? Or calculate it with measurable parameters? Thanks!

Hi Hans,

In the Output/Post-Processing panel in the Case setup, you can select the type of wall output you want. This would be under Output-files->Output-generation->wall-output. Select "Boundaries and stress". This will activate two types of outputs.

- First, this will generate bound*-wall.out, where * indicates the boundary ID. This file gives you several averaged variables over time for each wall boundary. Pres_force and visc_force in x, y and z directions are among the outputs.

- The second type of output is wall_stress$.out, where $ indicates the number and time. These files will be put in the output folder. This file has the wall_stress as well as the forces in each direction (x, y, and z) at every boundary cell as well as the coordinates of each cell. So, you can obtain local values if you are interested.
