Hello,
I am performing simulation on a GDI engine for emission (HC,NOx,CO ) comparison with experimental data. I don't know how to compare emission because experimental data is in gm/kw-hr and from which output file (emission region0.out or species region0.out) i take data to compare and how to convert it into gm/kw-hr. Hi, Hemant,
Out put in CONVERGE is SI unit in metric unit system, so you want to convert the kg /s in species_region*.out using the factor of 1000/3600 so that it converts to grams/hour. For the power value here, what engine power you are looking at? You can try to use CONVERGe studio's engine performance calculator to calculate your engine output. and use above gm/hr valve divided by the engine output . Quote:

Thank you for replying Yanheng Li
In species_region.out output file, I had species mass (kg) variation with respect to Crank angle degree. I am attaching a link to a graph for reference. For calculation I was told to take the species value at EVO, I don't know the species SI unit . How to change it into gm/kw-hr. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1HnT...ew?usp=sharing |

The value in species_region0.out is SI unit, just read the value at your EVO timing. You should know your engine rpm and EVO timing from your case setup. So take whatever crankangle it is at EVO and find the CO value there in kg CO(EVO), that is the CO emission per engine cycle. For example, if your engine rpm is 1000, then every cycle is 60/1000=0.06seconds, so your emission is CO(EVO)/0.06 kg/s, multiply by the scaling factor of 1000*3600 then you get grams/hour , and from the studio->tools-engine performance calucator, get your engine output power in W, and convert that to kw, then you get your emission in grams/kwh right?
