RANS model

In lagrangian, particle tracking fluid velocity should have stochastic component, however, in RANS model only statistical velocity is available. How is this sorted out?

Hello Rahul,

The Lagrangian parcels have uprimes. And we get turbulence velocities through turbulent kinetic energy.
CONVERGE models the effects of turbulence flow on spray drops by adding a fluctuating velocity to the gas velocity. For more details on how this fluctuating velocity is determined using either RANS or LES turbulence models, please refer to section 11.6 of our CONVERGE v3.0 Manual.

Hope this helps.

Sincerely,
