Recently I used CONVERGE software to simulate a two-stroke engine, but when the piston moves to 359.494 degrees, the following error occurs:

Abort(742988302) on node 18 (rank 18 in comm 0): Fatal error in PMPI_Alltoallv:
Message truncated, error stack:
PMPI_Alltoallv(371)............................... ..: MPI_Alltoallv(sbuf=000000001510C
040, scnts=000000000DE83F70, sdispls=000000000DE82B30, dtype=USER<contig>, rbuf
=0000000011792570, rcnts=000000000DE82770, rdispls=000000000DE83C70, datatype=d
type=USER<contig>, comm=MPI_COMM_WORLD) failed
MPIDI_Alltoallv_intra_composition_alpha(1051):
MPIDI_NM_mpi_alltoallv(806).................:
MPIR_Alltoallv_intra_scattered(127)..........:
(unknown)(): Message truncated

May I ask where is the problem? Looking forward to your advice.

Good morning! Unfortunately, this could be a wide variety of issues to diagnose this we would need more information.

I can think of a few common problems that you may be able to check, though. I see you're running a two stroke engine - are you running seals? If so, have you checked the quality of your seals? How about the alignment of the piston and liner with the axis of motion - are there any warnings when the simulations starts about alignment? Does this run with check_grid_motion_flag enabled in inputs.in?

Thanks!

Hi,John

Thank you for your advice.
This is my problem during the process of checking the quality of the mesh.There were some early warnings:Can not find split point after sealing.I have properly refined the mesh and still have these warnings and the same error at 359.494 degrees.Are there some rules that need to be followed in the process of setting the seal? I set the distance between the piston edge and the liner to 0.1mm, does that have something to do with it?

In addition, the moment when the error occurs is the moment when the piston moves to the TDC and reaches the end of the cylinder, does it have anything to do with this?

Thank you again.
