Spray D simulation

Hi, I am working on validating a vapor penetration for Spray D. I'm experiencing significant errors when comparing the results with experimental data. I'm seeking suggestions on the choice of a RANS model, grid size, AMR, and techniques that can potentially improve the accuracy of my simulation. Any advice from the community would be greatly appreciated

Hi Tee,

We have a similar spray in our suite of example cases - 'ECN Spray A Lagrangian Transient RANS'. We would recommend you try the case settings used for that case here as a first step.

If the vapour and liquid penetration lengths are not matching, lets say they are overpredicting as compared to experimental values. I suggest you to adjust Ceps1 in RANS turbulence model. This constant has direct effect on vap length. For liq length, adjust Spray model breakup time constant (b1), if you are using KH-RT.
