Steady-state CFD application using Converge?
 

Hi All,


I wonder whether it is appropriate to use Converge for Steady-state condition. My version is V3.0. I notice that V3.0 has added 'SIMPLE' as steady-state NS solver.

After some quick talk with other experienced users, V2.3 seems to intend to overpredict flow condition with PISO solver. I am not sure whether the same issue may occur in V3.0 or 3.1.

This is Yu Zhang from CONVERGE support, as you have already found out, there are a lot of improvements for the steady state solver since v2.3, e.g. now we have the "Under-Relaxation-Based Steady-State Solver" for v3.2. So I would recommend you use our newer version (v3.0, v3.1 or v3.2) for your own application.
