Source term, which expresses the momentum force on the gas flow due to the elec-field

Hello Everyone,

I'm modelling a 2D electrostatic precipitator model in fluent. The electric field is already implemented and works. Now I need to couple the "flow and particles" with the electric field.
Based on my findings, a source term (S), which expresses the momentum force (N/m2) on the gas flow due to the electric field need to be added to the Momentum equation known as Navier-Stokes.
"S" Is defined as: S = ρ E
Where
ion ρ is the ion charge density (C/m3) and
E is the electric field intensity (V/m)

I don’t know how I can apply the above to my model. I have a feeling that this is a basic question; however I am a beginner,
I really appreciate your help and expertise
Thank you
Mahan

Hi Mahan

Hi Mahan,

Have you completed your project of simulation? If yes, would you please share with me the way you coupled the electric field to ions and generating wind?

I have similar project in 3D and woundering how to implement the same.
