Default Are quarks significantly affected by electromagnetic force?

So I'm learning about electrostatic force and one thing came into my mind. Neutral atom can be 'made into dipole' (sorry for my crude choice of words) by external coulomb force so that its electrons are slightly shifted making it negative on one side and positive on the opposite. Since quarks that make up protons and neutrons are themselves electrically charged, do they also move inside hadrons and make them charged non-uniformly? Does electromagnetism affect single quarks so that it makes some real life phenomena or do they only interact electromagnetically as a whole composite particle?
