Hello,

im pretty new to enGrid. I read about the possibility to combine tet/prism layers and hex core meshes. This was the reason why I installed it...

For the beginning i tried out the damper tutorial. I did everything pretty much like in the wiki for version 1.3 (http://engits.eu/wiki/index.php/Tuto...he_Volume_Mesh).
So i got a prismatic boundary layer and I could add tet based volume mesh. But the option "create hex core mesh" in the Mesh menu stays grey..

Is this feature not activated yet or only in my installation or whats the matter with this feature?

I installed it on Kubuntu 14.04 by building engrid according to the wiki. (https://github.com/enGits/engrid/wik..._Ubuntu_system)

I hope anyone can answer my question. Thanks in advance!

Greetings Julian and welcome to the forum!

This answer by Oliver is still up-to-date regarding enGrid 1.4 (from July of 2013): http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/eng...tml#post438811 post #2

With a little luch it will be in the master branch on GitHub soon.
If this feature is working at all, it will be in the master branch, currently in development since enGrid 1.4 was released. I have not tested this branch myself lately, so I don't remember if the hex core feature works or not.

Best regards,
Bruno
