Input mesh formats

Hi all,

I am considering using enGrid to generate a volume mesh from a surface mesh (like TetGen does). Then, I would like to know what kind of formats enGrid can open (I am thinking about the .poly and .msh formats).

Thank you in advance,
Alexandre

Greetings Alexandre and welcome to the forum!

If you install enGrid, you'll be able to see what formats it's able to import! ;)

Quoting from the wiki, at least the following are supported:
Quote:

Currently enGrid has interfaces to Blender, Gmsh, and STL files. Gmsh can be used to import STEP and IGES files and it can also be used for simple geometry modelling.
Best regards,
Bruno

Hi Alexandre,

you can PAY Oliver to add new formats if that is really nescessary.
But with some python scripting you can convert many formats with paraview or VTK yourself. http://www.paraview.org/Wiki/images/...Tutorial41.pdf
http://www.paraview.org/Wiki/Convert...rom_PLY_to_VTP

see those readers vtk supports http://www.vtk.org/doc/release/6.0/html/classes.html
