3D visualization help
Greetings.
I've been having severe difficulties getting the 3D mode ('stereo') to work on my projects. I have a Quadro 4000 and am using NVIDIA's Vision 2 glasses, with the DIN-connected synchronizer. Also, I'm using an ASUS 3D monitor. My EnSight's version is 10.0.2(e). On my most recent tries, either the stereo option remains greyed out or it shows the 'ghosts' intrinsic to 120Hz stereo 3D, but the glasses won't synchronize. Any tips or thorough guides to make it work? |
have you tried using a CRT that vsyncs at 120Hz?
also, double check that the nvidia drivers stereo mode. also, consult with CEI support about your problem. They normally have a solution already or will help find a solution to your problem. If your maintenance is current ;-) |

I have also contacted CEI in January about it, but they still haven't replied... Is it supposed to be intuitive to turn it on (in which case I would be sure the problem is in my end)? |
hmmmm. not sure.
I know the LCDs I have tried worked without much tinkering. But since they only did 60Hz were about useless. My only thoughts at the moment are that it might be getting confused by the 3d display AND the stereo adapter being available. |

Thanks for advices, anyway. |
I have found a workaround on the NVIDIA side of things.
It works on EnSight if I set the 3D to always show, as opposed to only function under 3D programs (in the NVIDIA Control Panel: Set up stereoscopic 3D -> Select when the display is in 3D mode). Now, that means that my copy of EnSight does not appear to the system as a 3D application. Now the matter at hand is how to set EnSight up so the systems does see it as a 3D app. |
