Hi everyone,
May i know what is the standard proportion for viscous resistance and pressure resistance in calculate total resistance? As i read one of the journal about resistance simulation for trimaran, it stated that the pressure resistance is below 30% of total resistance. However, in the result data produced from my project about catamaran, the viscous resistance and the pressure resistance are nearly the same. Any suggestion or idea about this problem? Your help will be appreciated. Thanks |

It really depends on the kind of boat/shape you're dealing with, Froude number, if it's a displacement mode / semi displacement / planing...
It's not because you read it should be 30% and that you do not have this, that what you did is wrong. |

Hi,
Rombzh actually i have already consist the information of the experimental data which i just run the simulation according to the information provided in it. Unfortunately, the pressure resistance still higher than the viscous resistance where suppose the viscous resistance is higher than pressure resistance. Now, i really dont know where i suppose to change in flow setting to get the correct answer. Any suggestion about it? Thanks |
