I am installing FV on a MAC OSX 10.8.5

When running the software I am receiving the following error's


/Applications/FV/fv/bin/fv
Client]: The specified address is not available from the local machine.

Software will not open,, Licensing is correct and verified on another working mac.

Now if I run with: /Applications/FV/fv/bin/fv -port none
The application opens and runs.

FV support wanted me to run the the contest which i have

/Applications/FV/fv/bin/contest
Waiting for a connection to GRSDA40027517 (Ip address) on port 12345.
socket bind failed: Can't assign requested address


Do you guy have any idea how to fix this issue

FieldView Support resolved the problem reported by satch1967 outside of this forum. The message "The specified address is not available from the local machine" can occur when a port (such as default 12345) is already in use or cannot be assigned. The output of the Contest utility illustrates that the problem is rooted in either prior port assignment or the installation environment configuration which is preventing port assignment. Users can select a different port (-port XXXXX) or range of ports (-port XXXXX:YYYYY) so key features are available (local parallel & client-server), which are precluded by use of -port none. Sometimes assistance is needed to identify other root problems such as privileges to assign ports.
