Dear colleagues,

We currently need to calibrate a flowsensor (turbine) like the one on the screenshot below.

As it takes a lot of effort to calibrate this flowmeter in practice we would like to calibrate it by using Floworks. By calibrating I mean finding which rpm corresponds with which flow rate.

Can someone tell me:

1. Is this possible by using Floworks? (I mean deriving a rotation frequency by applying a certain volume flow rate)
2. Can someone give me some help in setting up this model.

Thank you very much in advance,

Kind regards,

Peter Zwart

To do what you are asking takes the ability to move the blades with the fluid, which cannot be done with SW Flow Sim.
What you can do is find the relationship (by a curve) between pressure drop and flowrate for a given fan speed since you have to define the blade rotational speed in FS.
