Till this day, I simulate few examples for Pressure Drop in Flow-simulation, I define mass-flow for inlet and 1 atm enviroment pressure for the outlet, and i guess ; i got good results...

Ques1) But now i try to observe different example, Can i find the pressure drop in a pipe which has got one inlet , two outlet???If the answer is "YES",How???How do i need to define boundary conditions...

Can anyone have any idea???

Ques2)If my pipe has got 2 inlet , one outlet, How do i need to define boundary conditions???

Ques3)Why do we try to prevent swirl in the pipes??What does swirl causes in the pipe???Pressure Drop,Noise or What????

Boris_M will become famous soon enough
Hi Mehmet,

1) You have to define the inlet and outlet according to the reality. So if the reality is a pump with regulated flow rate or mass flow then you can specify that for inlet and if you blow to the environment then use that as outlet with a pressure opening.

2) In the same way, recreate the reality.

3) Well that depends on what type of pipe are you talking about. Swirl can cause noise and losses but is good for mixing etc. It all depends on the application.
