Hello Everyone ,
I am an engineering student , currently working on my thesis that involves simulation of bodies using FLOEFD and comparing the results with wind tunnel experimentation . To be more specific , I am trying to analyse how patterned surfaces ( hexagonal protrusions or dimples )affect the nature/behavior of flow around a streamlined body such as an ogive , airfoil etc..I tried doing a couple of simulations with automatic setting but results were no were close to the reference data .On the other hand there are too many options to tweak around , in case of manual settings . I tried understanding the logic behind every possible options given , but I find it really confusing . Also the time frame for conducting the research is very limited . hence, I request the kings and experts in this forum to share their views . I know that I have provided very limited information on the scenario . But , I am happy to explain further based on the specific questions about the problem . Thank you |

Is there any relation or a thumb rule that links the size of the computational domain and size of the model ?
