Hello eveyone!

Can anyone help with creation of hollow cylinder model to which I can apply thermal boundary conditions!

I have tried making a solid cylinder but hole is deactivated at the same time, so unable to create a hollow structure.

Thanks in advance

hi,

see if this is what you want: http://webparts.mentor.com/flotherm/...parts/tube.jsp.
If not please describe the "problem" more in detail.

Best regards, Gabriel

Thanks Gabriel...!
Thanks for the solution. But it seems to be a good approximation by considering just 12 facets for tube which may lead to a good amount of error. Can you please help into this?

Thanks.

Hi,

I don't see a problem in 12 facets. Try 12, then 8 then 4 to compare the differences. Try to keep cross section and total area equal between models.

In the end a model is just a model. It's supposed to model the real world but it could "look" a little different

Play a lot with the model, it's good to understand all the physics behind, Gabriel
