Default BC for enclosure inside an enclosure in flotherm xt

How to simulate a enclosure which is inside another enclosure .The first enclosure contains PCB board with one side at 40 C and the outer enclosure is at ambient temp.Am able to simulate with one enclosure but when am adding other enclosure which bounds the first one,not getting results

...sounds like a double enclosure topic. Just like a dream within a dream is called a double dream (..see Inception movie)

Could you please upload a sketch of the concept, I'm not sure I grasped the idea?

Dear Gabriel,
Sorry for the late reply,was not well
My question is based on if an enclosure is in which PCB is sitting is having inside ambient temperature as 50C and is tested inside a thermal chamber whose temp is maintained at 80 C then how to simulate such cases.

Hello Sandy,

- first of all such a test/simulation case is unrealistic! One might expect to have the enclosure air of the PCB with HIGHER temperature than the surrounding temperature (thermal chamber). This is because the PCB generates heat so it's the hottest part of your system when we consider a simulation that starts from thermal equilibrium (80°C for everything inside the thermal chamber)
- to simulate the pcb inside an enclosure you must:
o first: consider the computational domain as being the size of thermal chamber with: 80°C ambient temperature and a 0.5m/s air flow (or maybe more) to model the air flow caused by the chamber fan
o second: model the enclosure and the PCB inside the enclosure. TIP: don't apply and fixed temperature conditions to this enclosure because in reality the enclosure walls will have the temperature calculated by Flotherm based on PCB input power, convection and radiation.
