Hello guys,

i am new in floefd. I like the feature - adaptive refinement mesh.

It ist possible to show in goal plots if there is an mesh refinement. later in the post processing it is possible to the mesh in each refinement step?

And if yes: How?

Best regards and many thanks
Tobias

I'm not sure I understand what you are trying to do.

If you want to look at the mesh of each refinement, then there is a result file of the iteration before the mesh was refined as a backup in case the mesh gets too big and the computer runs out of memory etc. so you can continue from there.
These are usually named something like r_0000*.fld where the * stands for the iteration number it was saved.
You can load them individually. The last result file is always *.fld where * is the same number as the project folder. The very first mesh generated is the *.cpt where * is also the project folder number.

Regards,
Boris

Hey Boris,
many thanks for this advise.

It is possible to show results over every calculated iterartion or only at the end time?

Best regards

This would require an animation or loading them individually.
If you run a steady state simulation, then you usually only have the results of final or any backup iteration but not of every iteration. You would have to set the saving steps to be for every iteration but this will generate result files for every iteration and consume disc space.
You can also record the preview images during the solver run as a video directly.

Regards,
Boris
