Lateral Sloshing of a Cylindrical Tank

Dear Members,

I am currently simulating sloshing of water at 20 degrees in a cylindrical tank which has been laterally excited in FLOW 3D. The frequency and amplitude of excitation are 0.5 Hz and 15mm respectively. The aim is to continue the simple harmonic oscillation until the steady state is reached and then study the damping behaviour. The problem at the moment is that I dont seem to be getting the correct displacements of the free surface of the liquid (they are much low - less than a mm!!! while the experiments suggest much higher values). I have checked the units as well but cant seem to find the solution.

Please let me know if anyone could help me in this regard or if anyone has carried out a similar simulation.

Thanks
Jibran

I am a beginner of FLOW 3D. I have a technical question. How did you apply the harmonic excitation in FLOW 3D. I want to simulate the sloshing behavior of cryogenic propellent in a tank. But I don't know how to apply an excitation. I would be very grateful if you tell me.
