Users are not able to launch Flow-3d 10.0 when authenticated on a Windows 7 machine using domain credentials that usalize a roaming profile.
The roaming profile appears as a UNC. It seems as though Flow-3D is trying to access the profile by fails to work with the UNC. Is there a way, via environmental variables or something similar, to bypass Flow-3D access the users profile and instead utilizing a folder on the local hard drive? |

I had the same problem. Solved it using the following steps:
1. Start Registry Editor 2. Open the following key: HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-305035777-899029998-720635935-79877\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Ex plorer\User Shell Folders 3. Change the value of ‘Personal’ to a folder on your local hard drive (e.g. C:/Users) |

Old post, but I encountered the same problem today. Can be easily solved without messing the settings for other software that rely on that UNC path by editing the registry as follows:
1. Launch regedit.exe 2. Go to HKEY_USERS/S-1-5-21-(a long series of numbers which is different in your machine)/Software/Flow Science/C:flow3d|v5.0u1 3. Edit the field UserFilesDirectory to a non-UNC path, e.g. C:\Users\(your username)\Documents\FLOW-3D\ |
