problem with modeling tidal wave

dear all
i am a new user of FLOW 3D .

i was wondering how to define a tidal wave for a harbour .

in the wave boundary condition should i use fluid elevation table or wave definition ? or both of them ?

and form where and which direction they are measured ?

and for the initialation should i use initial water elevation or define a fluid region ? or both of them ?

i am confused with the definitions and couldnt solve my problem with user guide .

Thanks a lot for your help and valuable advises .
