hi
I want to know how to introduce air with constant velocity into water flow in one fluid and free surface?

If you are modeeling free srface, like a spillway, you should activate Air Enterainment submodel in the Physics Tab.

In this case, you must run the problem as 2 fluid.

in my case...in fluent after some iterations it is giving floating point error...
what is the floating point error?why it is coming?

hi,
i see this error when i used some zero value for initializing the model parameter, change this value and if their real value is zero use small value in initializing menu.

hi
do you know in flow 3d how we can use air entrainment in specified sections?in spillways I mean.and also about parameters.specially entrainment rate ceofiecient...I have no idea about it.
thanks

Hi everyone
I want to inject air (with known rate) from bottom of the channel to water flow?
I dont know if Flow3D could simulate this...and also i think airentrainment submodel Pulls air into the water flow due to turbulence
Please help me..
Tanks

you can try "mass momentum source" to inject air to water

Thank you very much
Would you please explain "mass momentum source" more?

Hi
This article is like your problem except that they used Ansys FLUENT 15 for their modeling. I wish it could help you.
All the best,
