Vertical Gate Modelling in Flow 3D

1 Attachment(s)
Hi all. I am modelling a vertical gate in flow 3D which is opening at very gradual rate. The issue i am having is that Flow 3D passes flow through gates even the gate is closed (see red object in attached picture). I have made "stl" in AutoCAD and defined the gate density in Flow 3D. However the gate is not acting a as a barrier in flow 3D. I don't understand either geometry file has issue or Flow 3D doesn't model thin gates.
Can anyone guide as how to resolve this issue ?

Your mesh can be too coarse. Did you tried FAVOR?

If you are trying to maintain a coarse mesh, but have a thin gate, you can specify mesh planes at both faces of the gate to force FAVOR to capture the gate geometry. You can also nest a finer mesh near the gate.

You should ensure the geometry extends beyond the mesh block so that no fluid can escape round the sides. With baffles for thin walls ensure these also extend deep enough to prevent fluid passing where it shouldn't
