Hello guys
I've got some questions regarding "Flow3D Post" and I would really appreciate that if you help me with them.
I modeled my channel with Flow3D and it worked almost satisfying, now the purpose of the project is to monitor the hydraulic parameters of water (pressure, velocity, etc.) in different sections of the channel. the problem is that I don't know how to section the channel and extract the results. I will attach the photo that shows my channel and the sections I'm talking about.Attachment 91057
thank you

Create a series of flux surfaces at each streamwise location in HYDRO before running the simulation. Then you can monitor flow rate transiently in HYDRO and also plot data (pressure, velocity, NET mass flow etc) in POST. The flux planes can extend up to the bounds of the mesh block, it will just consider the fluid that passes through it.

Thank you for your answer Redlemon, it was really helpful. I've got another question, do you know by any chance how I can see the velocity in different depths of water in each section?
I created sections using 2D slice tool, and colored it by velocity, it gives me the velocity contour, but I need the exact value of velocity from bottom of the channel to water surface. I need that to create velocity profile in each section.
thank you for your help

OK for that you need a line plot and to export values so you get a 2D plot of velocity with depth. To plot a spatial variable along a line:
1. Go to the pipeline browser and select the dataset.
2. Go to Filters->Plot Over Line, place the line in the desired location, and choose Apply.
This should automatically generate a new Line Chart View unless one is selected.
3. Now, pick the desired variable to plot.

thank you REdlemon, it was perfect. You can not believe how many people I asked to help me with that. I was desperate to find it, you are such a big help to my project and I really appreciate it. since you are so proficient in Flow3D, can I have your email address to ask you, if I had further questions?
thank you again

Glad I could help. FYI, this solution is detailed in the POST reference guide available on the FLOW-3D users site. Thanks!
