Need support for GAMBIT geometry
In my research , I need to do a CFD model using GAMBIT and FLUENT. My flow is water and this is an open channel flow. I draw geometry in GAMBIT up to face stage. I considered x, y and z value and I have 7 faces. My query is: (1) Do I need to do 2D modelling or (2) 3D modelling. (3) In case of 2D or 3D modelling what I need to do next?
If you need any further information, please let me know. I am eagerly waiting for your reply. |
Re: Need support for GAMBIT geometry
What is the type of crosection of the channel.. If you want a square / rectangular channel.. 2D is enough, but to consider the wall roughness and precise values you need to do a 3D modelling, more over If it is a circular pipe or channel u must use 3D model.
Define the Boundary Conditions in Gambit Inlet - Velocity / Presuure Inlet (as you may wish) Outlet - Pressure outlet / Outflow (as per your requirement) Wall - rest all surfaces that constricts the flow. Then Define the Continum as Fluid Export the Model as a Mesh file.. Then you must be ready to start setting up an problem in Fluent. I hope this was informatory, any Further queiries mail me.. |
Re: Need support for GAMBIT geometry
Hi Navin
thanks for your reply. I need lot of advise regarding GAMBIT & FLUENT as I am very new in this area. Could you please provide me your email address so that I can send photograph of my model shape. My email is: srbbd@yahoo.com. I tried to send your gmail address but that email bounce back with message "permanent fatal error". Your help will be highly appreciated. & I am waiting for your reply. |
