How to calculate suspended sediment concentration ?

hi to all: i want to use the sediment scour model.In the initial menu,i set up fluid region 1,but i don't understand how to define suspended sediment concentration.How to calculate suspended sediment concentration ?thank you !

Hi, fang

To define the initial suspended sediment concentration, you could fill the box of SS #1 whith initial SS concentration of the tree menu of the Fluid Region 1, ie, Fluid Region 1 -> Scalars -> SS #1. in Initial Tab.

Hope this will help ^^;
Bye.

Another question is how can I set at boundary different sediment concentration in vertical direction?
Thanks for reply.

Armen,

You mean, for example, the suspended concentration varying along the z coordinate? It must be done through a customization, I am afraid.

Another possibility is to setup a flow that can produce such sediment distribution, run it to steady-state and then do the original simulation as a restart from this one, using the steady-state solution as the boundary condition.
