Hi!

It's really easy to import a topographic file. You don't need to convert it as a .stl. Open your ascii file with a text editor and be sure that the columns are separated by a space. Then add a title line: "X" "Y" "Z". Your file should be like the following example:
"X" "Y" "Z"
1015372.75 194868.25 282.219
1015373.00 194868.25 282.438
1015372.50 194868.00 281.382
1015372.75 194868.00 281.127
1015373.00 194868.00 281.621
1015373.25 194868.00 282.336
1015372.25 194867.75 280.545
Save your text file and rename it as "name.topo" (change the .txt into .topo). Finally, in order to import your file in Flow3D, click on your file in the "Add Geometry File" window, after having selected Files of type: *.topo topo*.inp.

Good luck! Bye!

Topographical Survey is the study of Earth's surface shape and features.Topographic Survey is used to determine the position of any feature or more generally any point in terms of both a horizontal Coordinate system such as latitude and longitude, and altitude. Identifying (naming) features and recognizing typical landform patterns are also part of the field.
