When I simulate the arogn fluid through the porous media. However,I don't know how to set the viscous inertial resistance factor and the inertial resisitance factor.Thank you for help!

have you tried the module viscosity and turbulence?

flow resistance in porous media is define in FLOW-3D by drag coefficient K:

du/dt=...-K*u

Where the expression for K depends on the choice of the drag model. The most commonly used is the Reynolds number dependent drag, IDRG=4, which requires a linear and quadratic flow loss coefficients. The Manual gas more details on choosing those.

Hi all,

How to modeling porous medium in fluent, if it's heated from below.
If I have a rectangular channel and fitted porous medium with the porosity is 15%.

Hi everyone,

I'm trying simulation porous media in rectangular channel, but the result isn't suitable with any research.

So, would you help me. I wish someone can check my simulation and give some reports if there is something wrong.

Thank you for your help.
Please send your e-mail, than i will send you my works to to your email.

I use ANSYS Fluent 6.3 [CFD]
