How to model bubble formation in a vapour line of a loop heat pipe

Hi there,

I need help on the processes or method to model bubble formation using fluent. My project is to simulate bubble formation in the vapour line of a loop heat pipe using fluent. There will be two phases involved, liquid and vapour. The aim of my project is to determine the characteristics of the bubble formed using different types of fluid.

Thanks :)

Hi i am also working on loop heat pipe simulation and am well acquainted with bubble formation method but I dont understand why would you like to study bubble formation in vapor line, which is mostly going to consist of vapor only. I think you need to review your research objective.

Bharat

Hi Bharat, thanks for your reply.

I'm sorry it supposed to be water-vapour line. Where there will be water and vapour mixtures. Experiment proved the formation of bubble and the shape of the bubble formed changes with different amount of heat flux supplied. My task is to create the model of it to study the characteristics of bubble formed with different types of liquid. I need the steps to perform this type of simulation using FLUENT.

Thanks again

Hi Jay,

I can help you in that. For my help please contact me in my email id:

And also a brief account of yours academic background will be great.

Also what is this water-vapor line ? In LHP only compensation chamber, evaporator, condenser, and liquid and vapor lines are there. Which one of them you are talking about ?

Regards,
Bharat

hi Bharat
i need your help. i want to simulate 2- phase flow in a microchannel that has 2 inlets of water and 1 inlet of air. i shoud simulate bubble formation in this channel with VOF method. really i am new fluent user and i do not know how to do it. i was wondering if you could help me this is my emai: e_minu_1990@yahoo.com
