Xsoliv is on a distinguished road
Hello,

i am trying to simulate the 2D flow through an orifice with a high pressure drop. The Fluid ist N2O which will be liquid at the inlet and should convert completly to vapor.

My problem now is that Ansys doesnt have a method to fit my task (or i havent found it yet).
First i tried this using the cavitation model. Inlet 60bar and outlet 40bar. The vapor pressure is around 56bar. Problem here is that ansys doesnt allow a pressure below the vapor pressure, for every multiphase method and every cavitation model. Therefore ansys cant even keep up with my outlet BC and the minimum pressure is always exactly the vapor pressure. Why is this the case?

Second i used the condensation and evaporation model. Problem here is that a transtion to vapor only happens for a temperature gradient. My flow is isothermal, therefore no transition at all.

Is there a proper method that fits my task or am i doing something wrong?

I am thankfull for every bit of help!
Henri
