lift coefficient in phase interaction
hi friends
i have a question about multiphase modeling by using Eulerian model, in "phase interaction" tab, we need to choose a coefficient for lift of phases! I'm working on a bubbly flow column and for this which model do you suggest to me? |
Dear,
The interphase drag model is one of the most important thing in Euler-Euler two-fluid model. In my experience, the most common drag model for fluidized beds is Gidaspow. However, you could try other models such as EMMS (Wang & Li), structure-dependence drag (Huilin), or filtered drag (Sarkar). Those drag models are not available in Fluent, thus you should use UDF for that. For dense fluidized beds and solid capacity > 0.2 of reactor volume, the Gidaspow is the best. For lean fluidized beds such as riser zone, the gas-solid structure will be affected by meso-structure of flow, the EMMS and Structure-dependence drag models are better. I did not try the filtered drag by Sarkar, but after talking with him we found the almost same solution for meso-scale interaction. |
