Hi all,

I am trying to model a laminar flow boiling with fluent. However, if I am not wrong, the RPI boiling model is only suitable for turbulent flow.

The VOF model has been widely used to simulate flow boiling to study the bubble growth. However, the information on the bubble surface is not crucial in my study. Hence, I am thinking of using mixture model or the eulerian model for the setup. Does anyone have any advice on this? Also, does anyone have any pointers for the UDF, such as is there any existing udfs that I can start modifying from?

Much appreciated, thanks in advance!

Hi Kathleen,

I am trying to solve the a very similar problem as yours: detect the presence of boiling in a natural convection driven flow.
Did you have any luck with your problem?

Thank you very much in advance for your answer (or anyone´s!).

Bye.
