Default Conservation problem Eulerian multiphase fluidized bed

Hello everyone,

I am simulating a fluidized bed in 2D using Fluent. I want to check whether my simulation makes physical sense. For this I plotted the product of time-avg solid vof and time-avg solid y velocity versus the width of the bed (at a particular height). The graph for this is attached. Shouldn't the area below and above zero be equal implying that all the particles which go up also come down when you average over time ? Or am I missing something here ?
