Particle Injection Clarification

As I understand it, particles are released into the calculation when the DPM model is selected and is coupled (via selecting the "interaction with continuous phase" checkbox). Since this adds to the calculating time and produces residuals that spike at every cycle, things can become somewhat "unruly" when looking for convergence. What are some prudent selections for its' usage? (i.e., when, how often, how many cycles, etc...). I have this question because of the much simpler selection offered in the Graphics tab via Particle Tracks. Why are there 2 apparent versions? Is one for accuracy and the other for a quick visual version? How does one efficiently track particles?
