Heterogeneous reaction

1 Attachment(s)
I am making a simulation of an Heterogeneous Reaction using the VOF model for the multiphase.

The reaction is similar to this:
a*A(L) ---> b*B(g) + c*C(L) , this means that the liquid reactive produce two products one in gas phase and the other in liquid phase.

I have a doubt: if I'm only modeling an heterogeneous reaction in the species model panel (see fig above) Do I have to enable the volumetric box in Reaction option?

I will appreciate any comment.

Regards,

Lorena

Hi Lorena,

You need to turn on Volumetric under reaction in the species model box, then in create/Edit materials dialog box, select none from Reactions drop-down list.

Hello Lorena,

For modeling any heterogeneous reaction, I guess, we have to enable the volumetric box in Reaction option so that the reaction taking place can be given as input in the drop down menu.

Bhuvanesh.
