Hi everyone,
I am trying to simulate Al2O3-water nanofluid flow through a plane 2D channel using DPM. Mass flow rate of nanoparticle is 0.06498 kg/s. I am using surface injection where the number of particles are 60 as the number of cell faces are 60 according to my geometry. Nanoparticle diameter is 20 nm and density is 3880 kg/m3. So, each nanoparticle has a mass of 1.625*10^(-20) kg. So, for each injection 60 particles are entering into the domain which have a total mass of 9.75*10^(-19) kg. So, I am confused how fluent adjust the mass flow rate per second? If I increase the mass flow rate keeping the number of cells same at inlet, then how Fluent adjust it? I have searched in earlier forum. But not able to understand properly . Please help me

Hi,

The injection is wrt timestep. The surface injection will be a parcel and not a particle.

No of particles in single parcel = (total mass flowrate*time step)/(no of parcels*mass of a single particle)
