spray modeling in ansys fluent
 

Hello

I am new to Ansys Fluent. I am trying to model a spray type inlet. I have read about the velocity inlet boundary condition. But I am not quite sure whether this is the appropriate BC. Could anyone please suggest if there is a better alternative?

The Objective
 

The type of inlet or setup depends on the objective of the simulation. The available information is to be used to decide about the multiphase models to be used, e.g., if the initial diameters for the droplets are known, then standard DPM with breakup models will predict the spray characteristics. Another example is using the atomizer, provided an atomizer is being used in reality for spraying the liquid. Velocity inlet is only for continuous fluid, like a jet, and not for spray. But if the liquid comes out of the nozzle as a jet and then breaks into droplet, then you will have to use VOF + DPM. This option is expensive in terms of spatial and temporal mesh.
