Cyclone animations
 

Hi everyone, i used ansys fluent to simulate the gas and particle flow in a gas cyclone. I have to do a PowerPoint presentation and i want to put some animations.
First of wall i want to have an animation for the mesh, because if i save only the image the grid isn't so clear. Cells are too many. So i thought to create a zoomed animation which scrolls from up to down.
Moreover i want an animation about the particle flow.
Is there a way to obtain this animations and export them in a PowerPoint?

Animations
 

For Mesh, since it is not changing, you can use keyframe animations. You can set up multiple keyframes, each keyframe showing a particular view. Each keyframe can have different orientation and zoom level.

For particles, you can either do keyframe animation or particle animation. However, particle animation requires transient simulation and animation has to be setup before running the simulation or you should have intermediate data files saved for the purpose.

These keyframe animations can be written as wmv or mp4 files.

Ok, for mesh it's ok.
But, for particles, i used a steady time. I tried to obtain this animation in Result->particle tracks and setting 'Pulse mode' in single.
However, despite i select 'draw mesh', the mesh doesn't appear, and seems like my particles are moving in the void

When you select Draw Mesh, a mesh display panel appears. You have to select the surfaces that you want to display, click on Display, and then close it. Now, when you display particles, mesh will appear as well.

i tried what you suggest, but if i press 'pulse' button, the particle starts to flow but the mesh doesn't appear.

If the Draw Mesh is selected, mesh should display. But it won't matter for you because Pulse cannot be recorded as a video until unless you record video using a screen capture or external camera. For steady-state particles, either use keyframes or load the results in CFDPost and use animation in CFDPost.

i'm trying to use CFD-post, once i uploaded the .dat file, then i when i try to have an animation the program asks me to insert a '.trk' file. I have only .dpm files for my particles. How can i obtain this '.trk' files?

.trk file is written by CFX and not by Fluent. From Fluent, you can export .xml file using File > Export > Particle ...

Then you can load this xml file on top of already loaded dat file.
