Bubble breakup using VOF
Dear community,
I would like to request someone to shed some light on how VOF can simulate gas-liquid flow with void fraction distribution. I know there are different bubble breakup and coalescence models available which can be used for this purpose, but trying to understand the underlying physics used by VOF to simulate gas-liquid two phase flow. I know VOF tracks two immiscible fluid interface, but still didnt understand. For example, CFD-PBM coupled model can be used to model bubble breakup-coalescence processes and as such provide gas void fraction. How VOF can do similar stuff without considering the bubble interaction? Thanks |
