Default how to define more than one species in one phase?

For this chemical reaction: C(s) + O2(g) = CO2(g). I want to set O2 and CO2 as different species in gas phase. But only one kind of material can be chosen when setting primary phase under "Phases". How can I do? Thank you very much.

you need to also enable the species model, and tick the option 'volumetric reaction' there to be able to set up reaction equations.

Like you would do with single phase. Under boundary conditions, you have the tab 'multiphase' for inlets to set the volume fraction of phase 2.

In each separate phase, you have the species tab to set the mole or mass fraction of each species in that particular phase.

Thank you very much. I Know I can set the volume fraction of Phase 2 under boundary conditions.

I wonder how to set the mole or mass fraction of each species in the gas phase after I defined the material under Species--Mixture Material.

As mentioned, you can also find 'species' under boundary conditions.
You can find this both when considering the conditions for phase 1 and for phase 2, where for each phase, you can set the adequate mass or mole fractions for the species.

hello! I meet the same question.
I used the Eluer model , I defined the primary phase is water-liquid and the second phase is the mixture of water-vapor and air .
But I am failure. the soft donet that there must be more than one species on each phase!
could you tell me what should I do ? Thanks a lot !

Mybe I didn't describe my question. I mean I enable model "Species" and Eluer model at the same time. Defined the primary phase is water-liquid and the second phase is the mixture of water-vapor and air. When I clicked initialization, the soft reminder that there must be more than one species on each phase!
What reason is this? Thanks.

Smile error i am getting in Fluent " there must be more than 1 species on each phase"?

I am using multi-phase Eulerian granular model. I have activated the species model. I am trying to find layering on a solid surface from the bulk solution. I am having 2 phases ( 1 liquid phase + 1 solid phase)

I also met the same messeage, and figured out to avoid it.

Copy one of mixture phase, and define them as liquid phase.

In liquid phase, define two liquid species.
One is your species, the other is some random one

And I just simply set the concentration, inflow, everything as 0 for the random species.

Hope this trick will work to your problem
