Hey guys,

first a short description of my problem:
I investigate the heating of steel in a furnace wherein the steel is periodically shifted from one position to another. All steels (cell threads) have the same dimensions and a fixed distance from one another.
To characterize the periodical shift I would use an UDM to save the temperature distribution in one cell thread, adapt the x-coordinate (shift of the steel) and emboss the values. Is it a problem if the individual steels (threads) do not have the same mesh, so a cell value cannot be directly related to the next cell? Or are the values interpolated, which increases numerical error but does not lead to any error?

Thanks in advance,
Martin
