c_phase_diameter (at the wall) vs departure diameter

Hi everybody !

In multiphase wall boiling modeling (Eulerian),

it seems that there are two ways to export departure diameter from fluent.

The first is to create udf files for each of the departure diameter included in fluent (but also for new ones) and apply a line for keeping the value in memory.

The second is to create a udf file that will be used as a standalone function based on "execute on demand" logic.

We used both approaches. The variable used for the second option was C_PHASE_DIAMETER. (We hoped that at the wall this function would provide the departure diameter only...)

However, by comparing the results, it seems that by using the second approach we do have results at points where boiling is not expected (in adiabatic instead of heated walls for example) and the results are somewhat different.

Have anybody experienced a similar problem?
:)Does anybody know the exact name of the departure diameter function in fluent in order to avoid using C_PHASE_DIAMETER?

Thanks in advance,

Alex
