Hi guys,

Here is my new problem. As you can see in the picture I'm attaching, I have a 2D domain consisting in 3 subdomains.

The outer one is stationary and there are other inner two which move under different prescribed motions. The intermediate subdomain will move with a sinusoidal function and will remain stationary for some time at each peak of the function. During this stops, the smallest subdomain will rotate through a step or a ramp function to change the angle of attack of the airfoil which is inside. Once the airfoil's angle of attack if modified, the intermediate subdomain will restart its motion, and the smalles subdomain will move with a different function to keep the airfoil's angle of attack constant with respect to the flow.

Thanx

Interesting problem, and it seems a clasical sliding mesh should suffice. I suspect that you already have the movement equations for both domains, so ... what is your question?

Thanx for pointing it out dmoroian :-?

My question is, how can i code this problem with a UDF? which UDF should I use? Can I code the displacement functions through UDFs or should I use functions defining the velocity?

You are right when mentioning it is a sliding mesh problem, there is no mesh deformation at all.

cheers!

As far as I know, you cannot hook a udf to the moving mesh velocity. However, you can use a scheme script for this purpose.
