hai,

am trying to write UDF in fluent for my rotor motion in the stator. I tried a lot but i cant can someone help me.....

Rotor having the both translation and rotational motion in stator.
the translation motion is in eccentric motion.

the eccentricity-4.039mm
The diameter of rotor is 39.878mm
stator dia-40.428

My rotor center linear motion is controlled by equation: x=2*e*sin(theta)
Where, eccentricity=e=4.078mm
Angle of rotor rotation =theta
Theta=w*t
Angular motion of rotor=Nr=60 rpm.
Angular velocity of rotor=w=2*Nr*pi/60 rad/s

Initially the rotor center (0,0) is same as stator center (0,0). I consider first plane of rotor (or stator) as the initial plane. As we move from one end (or initial plane) along z-direction, stator center lies on z-axis. But the rotor center moves eccentrically inside stator. [Stator is twisted and having its axis on z-axis].

Rotor pitch (Pr) =1/2*stator pitch (Ps) or Pr=Ps/2

Assume, Time step=dt
One rotor revolution takes 1/w seconds.
Time step=dt
Number of steps for a single revolution, N = (1/w)/dt

After time dt, the rotor center will be at x1=2e*sin(w*dt)
x1 is distance from the center (0,0).

In this link u can see the motion of rotor
