Hi,
is it possible to insert a wall in fluent without changing the mesh? Basically I have a plenum and I want to split this plenum into two plenums. Is there any possibilty to do that without a new mesh (therefoe I have to change geometry first and then mesh again ...) Thanks in advance. |

Hi, dear Zigainer, if you just want to compare the results without split and with split, and you have know where is the wall. I suggest you make the wall split first and then make the mesh, if you want to simulate one plenum, just define the split wall as interior. And if you want to simulate two or more plenums, define the split walls as wall.
You can change the boundary condition inside fluent and not need to change geometry and mesh. But what you need get note is that suggest change the boundary in serial fluent and not in parallel fluent. Any question please feel free let me know. Thanks. |

Hi dunga82,
thanks for your reply. What you suggest is fine, but I am at the point that I only have one plenum right now and I wqant to spilt taht one, withoiu meshing again ..... When I saw my results there was a big vertex in the plenum and one idea would be to split the plenum and see if we get two smaller vertexes .... But any way, I guess there is no option to add a wall to my existing mesh right now ??? |

according to your problem, that you need to define the position of split on the results of one plenum. That is to say you need to change the geo and mesh. but I think that is not so difficultly to do so. |
