Hi guys,

I am trying to specify at inlet boundary conidtions that I have a mixture of gases entering the domain - x kg/s of methane and y kg/s of air, for example. However, I am only able to choose one gas for the inlet...

is it possible for you to split your inlet in two parts? so that you can enter both the fluid velocities.

Hi,

I'm not sure about this, but if you're using the VOF model, you should be able to specify the volume fraction of each phase at the inlet (if you have a velocity inlet, velocity is the same for the two phases so knowing the different densities you should be able to specify the flow rate).
Hope this can help,

Andrea

There are 2 ways. If it's a homogeneous mixture (no discrete phases) you can use the species transport model and define your mixture with mass fractions of individual components.
If it's a inhomogeneous mixture (discrete phases) then you can either use the Multiphase-->Mixture model or Multiphase-->VOF model and define the volume/mass fractions of your 2 phases at the inlet.

Luke
