Dear all
I have made a 3d mesh which has 2 periodic faces. When i open the .msh file fluent has these two faces as wall. How can i set them as periodic?
At boundary conditions i dont find the boundary: periodic and the "periodic conditions" of "Define" menu is not enable.
What could i do for that?

Thanks..

Hi!

You have to do with a TUI command:

/mesh/modify-zones/make-periodic

If you're using FLUENT 13 then change the boundarys of the 2 faces to interfaces and then under the tab Mesh Interface you can define your periodic boundary

@delaneyluke: I tend to use this method, whenever the periodic surfaces have the different mesh distribution.

@Edu-R: This method only works, when the mesh is exactly the same (I am not talking about similar) node to node on periodic planes.

You are right, I supposed that he had a conformal mesh. Sorry about that

kostaspan, as Far says, if you don't have the same mesh (or at least with a difference lower than "matching tolerance" parameter), you have to use the method they say.

Regards

Just wanted to share my experience, no hard feeling. Afterall this is brain storming. Your method is my favourite one, and I use whenever I can.
