Hi

I am trying to mesh a rectangular channel using Ansys workbench that will be used for multiphase flow using VOF method with oil and water. However, the mesh I create constantly results in high courant number in Fluent. I am using variable steeping in Fluent with the courant number set to 1 and minimum time step of 1e -07 and maximum time step of 1e -04. The courant number greatly exceeds 1 and the results become unrealistic. I created an automatic mesh by Ansys workbench which gives satisfactory results but I couldn't make the mesh finer near the wall. So to fix that I am manually meshing the channel in Ansys workbench by defining the number of edge divisions but it just isn't working. I have tried coarsening and refining the mesh but it doesn't work either. I have attached my mesh picture, can someone please help me??? My boundary condtions are velocity inlet, pressure outlet, and a contact angle at the wall. The flow is incompressible and laminar. Thank you very much for the help. If you need any more info then please let me know.

Sincerely,
Harsh
